Who is responsible

Information we collect

We collect information people provide through orders, quote requests, enquiries, supplier forms and sales listings. This may include names, company details, email addresses, phone numbers, billing and delivery addresses, order details, drawings, uploaded files and messages.

We may also collect limited technical and usage information needed for website security, reliability and analytics.

Location and maps

Engineers HQ asks for device location only after a person selects Use my location. The precise position is used in that browser to calculate distance, order nearby results and show the person's approximate position on the map. Engineers HQ does not add that position to directory search requests or store it in the Engineers HQ business database.

When Map view is opened, the browser requests the map style and tiles needed for the visible area from OpenFreeMap. List view remains available without opening the map. Business pins appear only where a precise public business location has been approved; city-level and private service-area listings are not given invented map pins.

Why we collect it

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotes, review and fulfil orders, process payments, arrange freight, route requests to selected suppliers, operate listings, prevent misuse, maintain business records and improve Engineers HQ.

Business and service listings

When a business or engineering service is submitted, the submitter's name, email address and private contact phone are used to review the request and are not published as part of the listing. Details expressly supplied for public display—such as the business name, description, public contact methods, city, region, approved address, hours, capabilities and photos—may appear on both the Engineers HQ website and mobile app after review.

An exact street address is published only when the submitter opts in. A submitter may request access, correction or removal by contacting Engineers HQ.

Who may receive it

Information may be shared with the supplier, advertiser, carrier, payment provider, professional adviser or technology provider reasonably needed to complete the requested service. For supplier-direct or overseas fulfilment, delivery and contact details may be disclosed outside New Zealand with appropriate care and only for the relevant order or quote.

We do not sell personal information.

Payments

Engineers HQ does not collect card or digital-wallet details on its own checkout form. When Stripe is used, payment information is entered on Stripe’s secure payment page and is handled under Stripe’s privacy and security practices.

Storage, security and retention

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Information is retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, legal obligations, dispute handling and legitimate business records, then deleted or de-identified where practical.

Access and correction

A person may ask to access or correct their personal information by emailing info@engineershq.co.nz. We may need to verify identity before responding.
