Graley Plastics & Laser Cutting in Petone, Lower Hutt, supplies cut-to-size plastics and makes finished pieces for workshops, signwriters and retailers. Customers can order sheet, rod or tube for a job they’re doing themselves, or ask Graley to fabricate the item. The range includes clear acrylic and polycarbonate, along with engineering plastics such as acetal, nylon, HDPE and UHMWPE.

The workshop cuts profiles in acrylic and wood, from individual letters for a backlit sign to flat pieces that slot together to make a three-dimensional model. Its two lasers have beds measuring 2500 × 1300 mm and 3000 × 1500 mm. The team can also engrave names, logos and photographs onto suitable materials.

For shop fittings, Graley designs clear acrylic displays around the product and the space it needs to fit. Examples include brochure holders for counters, trays that keep cupcakes in place, and dividers that separate products in supermarket fridges and freezers.
